As a general rule of thumb, we recommend trying 10-20 minute sessions, 3-5 times a week. But everyone will respond differently and can be custom to each user.
There is a lot of information online claiming to know the perfect usage amount which seems to contradict each other. We recommend not exceeding each session longer than 20 minutes and starting off on just 10 minutes to test your tolerance to the light.
Eye protection is not necessary.

Have been using Red Light Mask for around 2 weeks now. My eye lines are noticeably reduced and skin feels plump and firmer. Mask is comfortable to wear and it’s nice to have 10 minutes of quiet relaxing time to let it do its magic. Can’t imagine walking around without the Mask on. I spent quite a lot of time viewing several LED masks in my pursuit to find what I deemed to be the best choice and value for money. I finally decided on the Urban Hippie one, and I must say, I am extremely pleased with it! In saying that, I’ve only been using it a short while, but I have noticed an improvement in my skin. My main concerns are enlarged pores, sunspots on my cheeks, and a few dilated capillaries, and of course fine wrinkles. My skin isn’t too bad considering I’m now 62. I have stayed out of the sun for 36 years now as I am a (retired) Beautician. I use all the right skincare (obviously ) but I wanted something more that I could use at home – anytime – and these face and neck LED masks are PERFECT! I know that doing something, is better than doing nothing at all! So what I’ve noticed so far, after a few weeks is that the pores are infinitely better, the laughter lines around my eyes are definitely better and the capillaries are nowhere near what they were when I started. Another reason I chose this brand was because of the different coloured lights, as opposed to others that were only RED! There are preset options you can use, and you can also adjust the intensity level of the lights which is fantastic! The masks are very comfortable to wear, and the facial straps are much easier than some of the other brands out there. I’m really happy I chose Urban Hippie, for anyone pondering as I was – do yourself a favour and buy this brand. The company is husband and wife team from what I can gather, and they have a real interest in people and their wellbeing. They also appear to have a real passion for the company they’ve created. Ease of purchase and delivery was excellent. The face mask is comfortable and provides good coverage. I’ve only used it for one week so have not noticed any improvements yet. I purchased this product because it had the near-infrared light 859nm for therapeutic benefits. I researched the positive effects on the thyroid.
