6 habits to a better you in 2025

2025

Let’s be honest—life post-COVID hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. From financial stress to mental fatigue, disrupted routines, and strained relationships, the last few years have taken a toll. But if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to reset and reconnect with yourself—2025 is it.

Here are a few simple but powerful habits to help you create a healthier, more balanced version of you this year.

Planning to become a better you.

Wake Up Early

We all love a sleep-in, but waking up earlier gives you a head start on the day—and that small win can ripple into everything else. More time in the morning means less rushing, less stress, and more intentional moments to centre yourself.

Early risers also tend to fall asleep earlier and sleep more soundly. Staying up late, on the other hand, can throw off your circadian rhythm—especially if you’re glued to screens. Blue light from devices delays melatonin production and can keep your brain wired well past bedtime.

If you’re stuck in late-night screen habits, protect your sleep by wearing a pair of blue light blocking glasses before bed. They’re a small change that makes a big difference.

Make Your Bed

This is something so simple, yet can have a profound effect on your day. Watch this video of US navy Admiral William H Mcraven, he speaks about the importance of making your bed.

Don’t check notifications until you complete your morning routine

This one is so simple, but hard to do for so many of us. Reaching for that device and checking your emails as soon as you wake up trains your brain to react to everyone else’s demands before attending to your own. It also sets the tone for the day to allow yourself to be distracted. First complete the tasks you have set yourself in the morning, then check and action those notifications after.

Meditate

Set aside 10 minutes a day to meditate, pick a time that works best for your schedule – after a workout, before you go to work, after you finish breakfast. Using an Earthing product will help deepen your meditation practice.

There are some amazing apps that can walk you through your daily meditation. Waking Up app created by Sam Harris is one of the easiest to follow and can be added to your daily routine, click the link here to check it out.

Include at least 30min of physical activity Daily

We all know that exercise is good for us. It burns calories, reduces stress, helps with depression, releases endorphins, increases bone density, reduces the risk of heart disease and the list goes on… No matter what your fitness level or goals, make 30 minutes of physical activity a priority in 2021, even if it’s a brisk walk or a yoga session, you’ll thank yourself later.

Keep a gratitude diary

Being grateful for what you have and acknowledging that on a daily basis will truly help you become a happier and more content with your life. Oprah Winfrey, one of the most influential and successful women of our time will attest to the benefits of keeping a gratitude journal along with many other successful people.
